Every famous comedian in the world started their career doing Open Mic Comedy – Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, Carl Barron, Kitty Flanagan… you name 'em, they all started out in Open Mic Rooms doing 5 minute sets for no money.
At Funny Coast Comedy we’re passionate about supporting and developing new local talent. Since 2021, we've been running open mic nights at various venues across the Sunshine Coast.
With the closure of our most recent venue, Solbar, we are taking a little break but will be back bigger and better than ever from May 2026. Watch this space.
All of our open mic shows are hosted by a professional comedian and feature a bunch of acts at various stages in their comedy journey. From complete newbies doing their first ever spot, to proper pro’s from the telly trying out new stuff, and everyone in between.

For almost 30 years, RAW Comedy has been scouring the country for the next generation of Australian comedians, and heats for 2026 are happening now! Come along for a massive night of unique, original comedy, and your chance at an ‘I saw them before they were famous’ moment.
Every line-up is completely different, and you never know what you're going to get. Expect hidden gems, WTF moments and comedy legends in the making. The only thing that's guaranteed is plenty of laughs and a great night out!
